|Research Focus||Currently, my research focuses on defining a methodology for the development of a numerical tool for the lifecycle logistics optimization of ocean energy arrays. The novel methodology comprises a suite of appropriate algorithms that ranks the ports and vessels with the objective of having a lifecycle logistic solution minimizing the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCoE). The model is articulated in three modules. First, the characterization of the logistic requirements is executed based on the design specifications of the array of MRE devices. The second step consists of a feasibility assessment of the suitable maritime infrastructure capable of meeting the logistic requirements among a database of ports and vessels. Lastly, a set of algorithms discriminates between the feasible logistic solutions in terms of performance (time efficiency, cost, risk and environmental impact).
Besides, I will also shortly engage in another research project entitled "innovative concepts for wave energy devices".|
